Week of January 10th

Only eight weeks until Election Day!

Help us win outright on March 3rd and avoid a runoff election in November. Make a donation, volunteer, and display a Vote Mo yard sign. And make sure you fill out those mail-in ballots and send them in as soon as you get them in early February!

I want to Volunteer for Mo!

What I did?

We’ve been door knocking like crazy. My youngest daughter was very helpful over the holiday break with going door-to-door. She was the scribe and was supposed to write Yes Vote, Undecided or Not Home. After about three houses she created a symbol for Not Home with an H with a circle through it. She’s so smart!

My oldest daughter Kasie Gray, a Realtor at W Real Estate, hosted a Vision Board Workshop. I created a board to manifest our goals for the election March 3rd!

With the New Year comes resolutions! I am working hard this year to support both local businesses and my fitness goals. I joined the Ukiah Valley Athletic Health Club and am looking forward to using their Styku machine to plan my fitness goals for the year. My friend talked me in to trying the Springboard class with Cameron Johnson at Studio on State. Zumba will always be my favorite. I love the classes at Young for Life, the energy and support is awesome and a great place for teens and all genders. High energy, active and healthy—I am leading by example. If you’d like to do for a run or walk on the Great Redwood Trail let me know, I’m up for it!

Where I went?

On Tuesday, I attended the Board of Supervisors meeting. I’d like to thank Supervisor Brown for her excellent work year as 2019 Chair. Supervisor Haschak is the 2020 Board Chair and I’m sure he will run meetings that will be inclusive, responsive, on on track.

I also attended the Greater Ukiah Business and Tourism Alliance Meeting for the Downtown Promotional Alliance. It’s very important that the businesses in the district participate to learn how the GUBTA is there to support them. Due to retirements, Ukiah's downtown has seen the closure of some of our longtime successful businesses so this is an exciting time for a new generation of entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and renew and enliven downtown.

After Mayor Kevin Doble retired from City Council, I stepped into a leadership role with some water issues and joined the Board of the Russian River Watershed Association. Right away, I saw the need to make sure that Mendocino is represented in the region so I joined the Executive Board and currently serve as Vice Chair. This week, RRWA's executive board had our quarterly meeting with staff from the Regional Water Quality Board where we discussed important regional issues including recovery from wildfire, evolving regulations, the impacts of homelessness, and the need for a qualified workforce to carry out important watershed work.

It’s been a busy week! We are headed into the new year with a lot of energy and excitement as we near Election Day. We are only four short weeks from ballots arriving in mailboxes and only 53 days until the March 3rd Primary Election. Remember we are working to win the primary outright with a 50% +1. Every single vote counts!

We will soon be posting endorsement questionnaires from several organizations so be sure to watch for them on my News page. If you have questions about where I stand on the issues please let me know.
