Well, although we are sheltering in place at home. There are still plenty of things we can do to help our community.
My weekly newsletter will be modified from its original format during this time of uncertaintyas our country struggles to get ahead of the Coronavirus.
In my last newsletter I mentioned that I had created a Facebook group called Ukiah Area: Neighbors Helping Neighbors. https://www.facebook.com/groups/UkiahAreaNeighborHelpingNeighbor/The group has grown to over 1,776 Members in just one week! We are able to support each other with ideas to help keep the kids busy, safe places to take a walk and some folks have been able to find diaper wipes and dog food. This is a very stressful time for our community and I'm asking you to lean in and help where you can. If you need help please, reach out. I am ready and willing to drop off toilet paper, deliver dog food or just chat on the phone about what is happening in our community. I'm never too busy to support you and your family however I can. My direct cell phone is 707-391-3664
Through the week and over the weekend I have been on calls with the City Manager, Senator McGuire's office and various regional and State partners about how elected officials can best serve our community at this time. I am working hard to keep shopping local in the front of our communities minds and lend support however I can to our local businesses and senior community. Is there something missing that would help you? How are you getting your information? What would you like updates on?
